In Senegal, cultural and creative industries (CCIs) represent an important lever for growth and employment for young people. This project aims to structure a quality vocational training offering in the audiovisual and live performance sectors to promote the integration of young women and men.
Supported by the European Union and the AFD (French Development Agency), and led by the Republic of Senegal, this project aims to modernize training centers, strengthen teaching skills, and bring together the worlds of education and employment.

Contexte
Every year, more than 300,000 young Senegalese enter the job market, a significant proportion of whom are neither employed, in education, nor in training. Faced with this challenge, the Senegalese authorities have made human capital a pillar of the Emerging Senegal Plan (PSE), with a focus on youth employability and the diversification of training programs.
In this context, Senegal requested AFD support in 2021 to structure training programs in the booming cultural and creative industries (CCI) sectors. Senegal's audiovisual, live performance, and media landscape are experiencing strong momentum, supported by renowned figures such as Youssou Ndour and Adama Paris, and by international events.
The 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), to be held in Dakar, represent a major opportunity to showcase Senegalese culture and sustainably structure creative industries. This project, financially supported by the European Union to the tune of 3.2 million euros, aims to professionalize these sectors by strengthening the capacities of training centers and establishing a lasting dialogue between public and private actors.
