Since 2014, each year a new playwright is revealed by this prize that rewards a text for the theater. In this way, a somewhat subjective map of French-language dramaturgies from the South takes shape. In addition to recognition, the prize opens the way to residencies, readings and, in some cases, publication of the play. The call for entries runs from Monday March 31 to midnight Saturday May 3. So who's going to win the prize for this year 2025?
Opening date for applications : March 31, 2025
Closing date for applications : May 03, 2025
Details
To succeed Gad Bensalem, winner 2024 with Enfant, you need a little patience, a lot of pugnacity, and a lot of talent. First of all, the reading committee will read all the texts we receive between March 31 and May 3. They will then make a pre-selection of a dozen texts, which will be sent to the jury before the summer. The jury will then hold a closed meeting to decide on the winning entry. The winner will then embark on a series of meetings and encounters that will take him or her throughout the following months, from Limoges to Rouen, from St Louis du Sénégal to Avignon.
Winning the Prix RFI théâtre means a chance to have your play read at the Avignon Festival as part of the Ça va, ça va le monde! cycle of readings, and to be heard on RFI radio and on the rfi.fr website.
