The African Animation Film Market (MAFA) is Africa’s leading trade event entirely dedicated to the animation industry.
Funding, co-production, networking, talent showcase — MAFA is a unique platform for promoting African animation on the international stage.
Selection criteria
To be eligible for MAFA 2026, your project must meet the following criteria:
- Directed or co-produced by an African artist or an artist from the African diaspora
- Produced between 2020 and 2026
- Not yet commercially distributed internationally (premiere or preview)
- Submission of HD files (minimum 1080p) + production materials
- Clear broadcasting rights for the duration of the event
- Projects produced entirely outside the African continent without significant African involvement
