Call For Projects Creation Africa Ghana at Annecy 2026 (Last chance to apply)

The selected projects will be invited to participate in an exclusive workshop in Accra and secure representation at the Annecy Festival's market, MIFA, with a dedicated Ghanaian booth. In addition, selected project holders will receive full sponsorship from Creation Africa Ghana covering flights, accommodation, visa fees, travel insurance, accreditation, and local allowance. Submissions are accepted for Feature Films Short Films TV Series CALENDAR Project Submission Deadline: May 21 - 28, 2026 Announcement of Selected Projects: June 3, 2026 Prep Session in Accra: June 13 - 14, 2026 Annecy MiFA 2026: June 21 - 26, 2026 Eligibility & Studio Selection Criteria To be considered for selection, applicants and their studios must meet the following requirements: The submitted project must be currently in production and fall within the 2025–2026 production timeframe The applicant must be a Ghanaian animation professional or represent a Ghanaian-based animation studio The studio must be an active, registered entity operating within the animation or creative industry The studio must demonstrate a verifiable track record of animation work, evidenced through a portfolio, showreel, or prior project credits Studios must have the legal rights to the submitted project and be able to provide proof of ownership or rights documentation Each studio is invited to submit ONE project only, ensuring a fair and diverse selection process ‍ Evaluation Criteria A jury featuring industry experts will review complete submissions that adhere to the outlined regulations, evaluating them based on the following criteria: Innovation/Originality: The project's ability to introduce a novel theme, concept, idea, or storyline Market Potential: Assessment of the project's ability to cater to the interest of its indicated target audience Creativity: Evidence of creative prowess through submitted visual and written elements Project Viability: Presentation of a sound budget and evidence of work done and/or a plan for future development and execution Relevance: Evaluation of the submitted project's ability to address the stated aims and intentions of the author/director Visual Appeal: Assessment of the project's visual craft and representation Up to five (5) project holders will be selected to participate in an exclusive workshop in Accra, focusing on honing pitching skills crucial for festival presentations. Special attention will be given to applications from female animators.
