In the context of the S+T+ARTS Afropean Intelligence project, many challenges have been addressed. One of them remains open: digital economies for African art — innovation, equity, and value creation. What kinds of economic models can actually support African (digital) artists beyond aesthetics and hype cycles? Probably models that protect the value of their work, build on existing community-based practices, and respond to unequal access and global gatekeeping.
