MansA Radio – Ici commencent d’autres récits

MansA Radio is the audio production and broadcasting arm of MansA – Maison des Mondes Africains. At the intersection of documentary production and research, the platform offers two complementary editorial focuses. On one hand, stories and creative works: documentaries, fiction, and audio investigations that explore the personal, literary, and political dimensions of African societies and their diasporas. On the other, research and debates: recordings and discussion formats where French and international researchers, doctoral students, and thinkers present their work and engage in dialogue to shed light on contemporary cultural, social, and political issues.

Presentation

1- EXPLAIN THE SOUND : Explain The Sound is an original podcast from MansA Radio dedicated to African descendant heritages in electronic music. A documentary series that opens archives, gives voice to pioneers, and questions mechanisms of erasure, appropriation, and transmission that run through the history of house and techno. Direction: Marie-Maxime Dricot, with Laure Togola and Jérôme Caron Production: MansA - Maison des Mondes Africains With the participation of Jeff Mills and Suzi Analogue. Clearance/Archive Documentation: Kahina Kaci-Renard. Archive Credits: © INA - Institut National de l'Audiovisuel - Les Actualités télévisées All rights reserved 2- LES PETIT-DÉJEUNERS DE LA RECHERCHE (Researchs Breakfast) These are small-group work and exchange times, designed to feed the reflection of the MansA team and strengthen its network of researchers, thinkers, and doctoral students. These meetings accompany the structuring of the institution, illuminate its programmatic and strategic orientations, and participate in building an active research network, in France and internationally. This first season brings together four conversations recorded at MansA between February and June 2026. Through reflections on imaginaries, the postcolonial state, marine conservation, and African intellectual circulations, these exchanges question how worlds are built, told, transformed, and shared.
