Contexte

The project aims to strengthen artistic skills, encourage choreographic creation based on local traditions, and promote the professional integration of beneficiaries into national and international cultural markets, through practical and theoretical training, workshops, mentoring and the production of shows.

Goals

  • Promoting theoretical and practical training for dancers

    working in traditional Mozambican dance, encouraging appreciation of traditional knowledge and artistic experimentation in dialogue with the contemporary context.

  • Offer workshops and experiences

    which explore traditional dance techniques and their historical and cultural contexts.

  • Encourage the creation of original choreographic proposals

    based on traditional matrices.

  • Strengthening the role of masters of traditional culture

    as educational and artistic references.

  • Creating a space for exchange

    between traditional and contemporary artists, promoting the exchange of knowledge.

  • Contribute to artistic qualification

    groups and presentations that are part of the Raiz Festival.

Expected results

  • Training of at least 20 artists with a solid grounding in traditional contemporary dance.
  • Production of at least 4 original choreographic works.
  • Strengthen the presence of traditional knowledge in the artistic circuit (national and international).
  • Expand the audience and visibility of the Raiz Festival.
