Contexte
12 cultural and creative businesses from South Africa (9), Lesotho (1), and Malawi (2) were selected from over 700 applicants to take part in 7-month incubation and immersion programmes including individual mentorship sessions, on-demand entrepreneurship modules, group learning sessions and masterclasses.
The programme culminated in an immersive trip to Paris in October of 2024 which included site visits with the likes of Le19M, Casa 93, Kering, Federation Entertainment, France Médias Monde, exchanges with Institut français and attending Bpifrance’s BIG forum.
Goals
In South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi, this programme targets the region’s cultural and creative industries (CCIs), covering dynamic sectors like fashion, design, film, music, and gaming. At its core, it aims to empower these entrepreneurs, and to spark sustainable growth and innovation within their respective industries.
Expected results
- Designed to foster creative entrepreneurship in the region, the programme aimed to equip local talent with the skills, mentorship and seed funding needed to scale their businesses and connect with international investors, particularly in/from France.
