As part of the Création Africa Forum 2025 in Lagos, organised by MansA and the diplomatic mission in Nigeria, the Institut français is rolling out several initiatives: a delegation of ICC professionals, a Cinémathèque Afrique evening in partnership with the Alliance Française in Lagos, and the Plateaux Grand Angle, bilingual debates on cultural diversity, feminism and decolonialism.

Contexte

Création Africa, launched by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, aims to strengthen exchanges between African professionals and their French counterparts.

Organised by MansA - Maison des Mondes Africains and the diplomatic mission in Nigeria, the Forum Création Africa brings together stakeholders from the cultural and creative industries. The first Forum was held in October 2023 at the Gaîté Lyrique in Paris and brought together more than 300 African and French professionals. This year, it will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from 16 to 18 October. The Forum Création Africa programme offers workshops, conferences and networking sessions. Invited professionals will have access to a personalised programme featuring meetings, panels, mentoring sessions and targeted appointments.

Goals

ICC MOBILITIES PROFESSIONAL DELEGATION INVITED TO THE AFRICA CREATION FORUM IN LAGOS 2025
The ICC Mobilités mobility programme - Forum Création Africa aims to invite a delegation of French professionals from one of eight targeted cultural sectors – TV series, animated films, immersive worlds, video games, comics/webtoons, sound design, special effects and fashion – to participate in Forum Création Africa, from 16 to 18 October 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria.
AFRICA CINEMATHEQUE EVENING: SCREENING OF BAL POUSSIÈRE BY HENRI DUPARC (1989) ON FRIDAY 17 OCTOBER AT 7.30 PM
As part of the Forum Création Africa, the Institut français in Paris, in partnership with the Alliance Française in Lagos, is organising a Cinémathèque Afrique evening. This event celebrates African film heritage and illustrates the Institut français' desire to promote films from the Cinémathèque Afrique to new audiences, particularly in English-speaking Africa. The screening will be followed by a convivial cocktail reception.
PLATEAUX GRAND ANGLE: DISCUSSION SPACE ON MAJOR CONTEMPORARY ISSUES FOR THE CULTURAL AND AUDIOVISUAL INDUSTRIES
As part of the Forum Création Africa, the Institut français in Paris is hosting three Grand Angle discussions, providing a unique opportunity to explore the major contemporary issues facing the cultural and audiovisual industries. Artists and professionals will come together to outline fairer, more inclusive and more sustainable practices and imagine possible futures for creativity and the cultural industries.
