The Institut français at the Séries Mania festival in Lille
The Séries Mania festival (March 21-28, 2025) has established itself as the international meeting place for series, showcasing the very best in international and French series.
As part of the festival's professional component, the Séries Mania Forum (March 25-27, 2025), the Institut français is setting up several initiatives in partnership with the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and the CNC.
The French Institute supports African creation at Séries Mania
Thanks to funding from the Fonds Équipe France Création (FEF Création) of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), the Institut français is promoting African audiovisual creation with a delegation of 30 series professionals (producers, scriptwriters, distributors, etc.) from the African continent (South Africa, Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Central Africa, Algeria, Tunisia). They will benefit from privileged access to this major trade event for the sector, and the opportunity to initiate meetings and collaborations with French, European and international professionals.
To welcome this delegation and give them the visibility and space to set up their business meetings, a Creation Africa pavilion will be set up in the Séries Mania Forum areas.
In addition to access to the rich programming of Séries Mania Forum, the Institut français and its partners are organizing events dedicated to this delegation. The “African Talents & Industry Breakfast” networking event on March 25, organized in partnership with AuthenticA Series Lab, Story Board Collective and MansA, will showcase African creative talent.
A round table is organized in partnership with the CNC on March 26 to promote series co-production projects: “Initiate projects in Africa: opportunities and success stories”.
