Contexte

The first AI4GOOD Festival took place from 25 October to 6 December 2024 in Mauritius. It marked an innovative stage in the promotion of artificial intelligence among young people in Mauritius and Madagascar.
It enabled participants aged 12 to 19 (it will be 12-25 from the 2025 edition) to design and produce films with the lʼIA. Why did this happen? In order to convey strong messages about major societal issues, while stimulating their creativity and critical thinking.Structured in several stages, the festival included educational workshops run face-to-face and by videoconference, as well as live question and answer sessions. It concluded with an awards ceremony on 4 December at the Institut Français de Maurice.
Thanks to its strong partnerships, AI4GOOD Festival was able to bring together experts, sponsors and young talent around the values of diversity, dʼinclusion and dʼinnovation. The festival was an opportunity to showcase the technical and artistic skills of young people. It also laid the foundations for a constructive dialogue around the positive applications of artificial intelligence in the world of tomorrow.
Following the success of the first edition, the 2025 Festival launched its second chapter at the beginning of May, with the addition of a video game category and an international section covering 7 countries on the continent.

Goals

  • The second edition of the Festival is underway, with the aim of initiating 1,000 participants (we've already reached 800).

In addition to the competition itself, the annual event is designed to bring together a community of new content creators through workshops, meetings, experience-sharing and international collaborations.

Expected results

Extensive communication and pan-African distribution of the festival, with the aim of increasing the number of participants and partner countries. A presentation of the festival at the Création Africa event.
