Program

Conceived as a professional market, the KME aims to strengthen the Congolese and sub-regional music ecosystem by creating lasting bridges between African and European artists, producers, managers, programmers, publishers and institutions. Supported by the French Institute, the event also aims to encourage the circulation of talent and expertise on a continental and international scale, while promoting the growth of a Congolese music scene in full renewal. Kongo Music Expo will welcome a delegation of African and French professionals, including artists, producers, managers, publishers and programmers. This core group of professionals will be at the heart of the activities, contributing their expertise and helping to structure the network. The event will also bring together a wide range of players from the Congolese scene and the sub-region, with the aim of strengthening local professionalization while facilitating access to international circuits. The KME will be held on the premises of the Institut français de Kinshasa, symbolizing an institutional and cultural cooperation open to inter-regional exchanges. This event is supported by the FEF Création, a support scheme for cultural and creative industries run by the Institut français, as part of the Création Africa initiative of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. In this way, the Institut français reaffirms its commitment to the development of African cultural industries and the strengthening of cultural cooperation between France and the African continent.
