Program
The 1ᵉ edition of the International Student Film Festival will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 8 to 24, 2025 at Dakar's Cheikh Anta Diop University in front of the University Library (Bu). Perpetuating the long-standing commitment of the late Abdel Aziz Boye to put cinema on the agenda of the Université Cheikh Anta Diop, the festival's initiators want to invite the university authorities and the State to think along these lines. In addition, the festival aims to “promote diversity and plural student expression, combined with films from off-campus film clubs, to demonstrate to audiences the knowledge and creativity of students and young people in general, ready to undertake and innovate for the endogenous development of Senegal's territories”. The festival will feature a varied program of feature-length and short fiction and documentary screenings, conferences and round-table discussions with leading names in African cinema such as Abderahmane Sissoko. This year's event is an extension of the first Campus Film Festival, organized in 2013 as a platform for cinematic discovery and cultural exchange, with an emphasis on artistic expression and cultural diversity among students.
