We are Pressure Cooker Studios, a full-service Music and Audio Studio focused on elevating your art, based in Cape Town South Africa.

We consider ourselves a creative hub made up of 20 audio engineers and composers, each bringing their unique strengths to our collaborative "made by many" approach.

We create the sound for ‘that thing’ you need. We’re the first and last stop for everything you hear.

We work across all media; Commercials, Gaming, creating cinematic soundscapes for Narrative and we also have an extensive selection of original (and customisable) easy to license music under our Pressure Music Catalogue. We also offer Sonic Branding to our clients.

We think about a project’s entire audio journey holistically, with your creative vision as the cornerstone for every decision we make along the process. We always find a way to make it happen. Our passion and experience has put us in this position. We are always learning from each other and want to grow the talent in our industry. Nurturing creativity in young people is an important philosophy that we live by as we strive to build a platform for talent to flourish, here at the tip of Africa.

We have worked with the likes of Sony, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Paramount, Disney+, Lionsgate, to name a few.
Some recent projects include: Manor Lords - City Builder Game (Hooded Horse/Slavic Magic), Ancient Dungeon VR ((Eric Thullen), Heart of the Hunter - Feature Film (Netflix), Spinners - Series (Canal+), The Shakedown - Feature Film (Amazon Prime), and Extreme Airports Africa - Documentary Series (Paramount).

We are proudly rooted in Steinberg Nuendo as our Digital Audio Workstation of choice, with an extensive feature set that complements our needs in music composition, voice recording editing, sound design, and final mix.

Our studios are all interconnected by a Dante audio network setup across all of our rooms and workstations, which means we can record from anywhere at any time.

All studios are equipped with Genelec monitoring systems and are acoustically treated for the highest audio fidelity.

We have a Dolby Atmos Mixing Studio (cinema) and offer a variety of remote recording solutions including Source Connect Pro X, VST Connect Pro, Audiomovers ListenTo, and video conferencing (Zoom, Google Meet, Teams). 

This includes fully synchronous remote ADR features on simple home recording setups, with no additional requirements.
