I am Kadiatou Sinay Kanté, a French-Senegalese and Malian Khassonké visual artist and ceramicist, from the Blacksmith and Griot castes. I have been living in Senegal and working with the clay of my ancestors for six years now.
The land of Teranga (hospitality) is not unfamiliar to me, as I have been coming here since the age of six to visit Bakel (my first trip abroad, organized by my father to introduce my mother and her children to his roots, where he is from). The second trip organized by my father was to Mali (Kayes, Bamako).
I am a committed, determined and dedicated woman, working to bring to life the projects that are dear to my heart and that will allow me to live from my art.
