I’m Joseph Fiamaple, a Ghanaian Sierra Leonean filmmaker and producer based in Freetown and Accra. My film career started in 2015, after directing, writing and producing my first feature film titled APOCALYPSE, which stared a Sierra Leonean actress (Zainab Sillah). Later in 2016, i travelled to Sierra Leone, directed and produced a film titled "Ropoli", Which became the best film in the country after running through multiple film festivals and awards. I gained my recognition as a cinema filmmaker in Sierra Leone after winning the overall best film and trail blazer in 2017 from the ministries (Ministry of tourism, Information and Labour.  
From 2017, my team and i shot several films in Ghana and SierraLeone, including the drama “Slum Angels”  (2017), the feature “Treasure” (2018), a TV series “Intertwine” a short film “Tears of a Bird” (2018), “The lead” (2019), Spade (2019), “M'Bomposseh”, "where lies the truth" (2022), and we released "Ripple in the water” 2025, which further establish my voice as a director and writer in African cinema. My work often explores themes of love, family, identity, culture and social issues, told through a grounded, African lens.

Beyond my creative projects, l’m also committed to building the film ecosystem in Africa. I served as an executive member of the Producers Guild of Sierra Leone (PGSL),  as Western Urban Coordinator, helping to organize and support local producers and creatives. And also the Directors Guild Of Sierra Leone (DGSL), as the director Technical and Cinematic Support. Through this role and my own production work, my team and i advocates for stronger infrastructure, training, and opportunities for African filmmakers.
