Through its short and feature film competitions, the MCM celebrates the audacity of young cinematographic creation and the richness of soundtrack music. Each year, 10 feature films and nearly 70 shorts are in the running for a series of awards, including the prestigious Grands Prix for Best Original Score. Entries for the next edition are now open. Film teams not only from Europe, but from all over the world, are invited to submit their works. Fiction, documentaries, experimental films... All genres are welcome, provided they include original music.

The 27th edition of the International Music & Cinema Festival Marseille, organized by the Alcimé association, will take place from March 23 to 28, 2026, in Marseille. Registration is subject to a fee: €10 incl. VAT per film entered. Visit the Shortfilmdepot platform to register your film before October 6, 2025. I. SHORT FILMS Short films in competition must : - Be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd production of a short film. - Demonstrate a unique soundtrack: - either with an original score (written for the film) - or with a special treatment of the soundtrack (sound effects, voice treatments, silence, sound/image relationships, sound rhythms, etc.). In this case, please attach a note of intent (online when registering or send by email to laurence@music-cinema.com). - Last less than 30 minutes - Be completed after September 2024 - Register online on the common registration platform: the Shortfilmdepot (http://www.shortfilmdepot.com/fr) no later than October 6, 2025. II. ACCEPTED BROADCAST MEDIA DCP (without KDM key), HD files .MOV, h264 III. CATEGORIES The competition accepts the following categories: - Fiction - Documentary - Animation A film may be entered in only one category. IV. REGISTRATION FORM To enter the competition, each candidate must register online by October 6, 2025 at the latest on the Shortfilmdepot common registration platform at the following address: shortfilmdepot.com/en. When registering, applicants must provide the following information: - A digital version of the film to be uploaded online on the platform's server. - A synopsis in French and English (300 characters). - A list of English subtitles for non-French films. - A note of intent for the sound design if the music is not original (cf. §1).
