The Création Africa platform is a website and web app developed by the Institut Français. It is dedicated to professionals in the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) in Africa and France.

The aim of this platform is to promote networking and partnerships for the future by creating a community of African and French CCI stakeholders.

A “Création Africa” platform that supports the community

A genuine service hub, the Création Africa platform aims to build the skills and capabilities of professionals in the sector and present them with key opportunities helping them bring their projects to fruition.

Project leaders will have the ability to submit their initiatives, thus making them visible to the community.

The platform will feature the French team’s funding programmes and calls for projects intended for CCI stakeholders.

It will also bring together a selection of training courses, resources and events designed for these same stakeholders, to inform them and help them develop their skills.

Connecting professionals in the African and French CCIs

The platform is intended to support CCI professionals in Africa and France across all stages of their creative and innovative projects, from professional development (through a list of training programmes and resources) to the pursuit of funding.

A wide variety of professionals – professional artists and the people they work with (managers, technicians, etc.), project leaders, association stakeholders, facility directors, entrepreneurs, etc. – will be able to join the community. To benefit from the services offered by the platform, they will be required to register and then create a profile.

Stakeholders from the African and French CCIs have been consulted for the joint design and development of this tool, with the aim of best meeting their needs.

A directory, a one-stop shop, resources and initiatives

• Opportunities provided by the French team: calls for projects, applications and expressions of interest for the various programmes of the French team and the cultural network (mobility, training, incubation, professional meetings, funding, etc.);
• A community: access to a community directory to promote networking and exchanges between peers;
• Initiatives: professionals will be able to submit projects or initiatives to make them known to the community and the French team in order to rally support;
• Resources and events: a single access point for all current events relating to the CCIs in Africa.

With funding from the Fonds Équipe France Création (FEF Création) of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Institut français shapes transformative dynamics in its partnership with the African continent. It is implementing the ambitious Création Africa programme to support African Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs) and expand France's scope of action through new partnerships across the continent.
