COMPANY PHILOSOPHY

The core of Creation Africa is a threefold mission; first to exhibit the work of renowned African carver, Nii Addico, to the Western market. Second, to promote fairly traded African crafts. Creation Africa uses fair trade as a system for supporting other African artisans. And the third mandate is to educate the Canadian public on African culture and history. Through the stories and the history behind each piece of artwork or product we offer, Creation Africa strives to take African traditions to new heights and a new audience.

The symbol used in the center of our logo is an Adinkra symbol called GYE NYAME. The direct translation of this term is "except for God", meaning that with God all things are possible. And that below God everything; humans, plants and animals, are equal. This unique and beautiful symbol is by far the most popular for use in decoration (on textiles, signs and even lawn chairs!) a reflection on the deeply religious character of the Ghanaian people.
